Intake Services Division: The Intake Services Team provides professional intake and after-hours emergency social services that focus on assessing, prioritizing and responding to calls/reports of potential child/adult abuse and/or neglect. Referrals may come from Mi'gmaq Child and Family Services staff as a result of local calls or walk-in clients or from internal or external agencies such as educators, health officials and medical staff, policing authorities or other concerned individuals. Team members include:
• Intake Services Supervisor
• Intake Services Workers
Investigation and Intervention: Responds to reports of abuse and or neglect with an immediate investigation, risk assessment and implementation of such strategies as necessary to protect the Child/Children/Adult from harm; including but not limited to, apprehension and placement in temporary care.
